Abstract
In order to deliver high quality, effective health care to patients whose renal function has been replaced by dialysis, both physician and dentist should comprehend normal kidney physiology, some pathophysiology of renal disease, and the indications and treatment methods used both in the management of chronic renal disease and of dental disease. With the higher frequency of home dialysis, an increasing number of these patients seek care in general dental practice.
