Abstract

The editor of Boundary-Layer Meteorology, R. E. Munn, asked me to write a dedication for a special memorial volume for Hans A. Panofsky. Having known Hans and his beloved wife and companion Nancy for nearly 25 years, having fallen victim to their charm and joy of life, and having witnessed first hand Hans’ constructive influence on our discipline, I could not but agree.

The National Center for Atmospheric Research is sponsored by the National Science Foundation.
