Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to review the contributions made by all the speakers in the Workshop session devoted to ‘Objectives and Achievements of Regulations’. As such it offers nothing new, but rather should help to highlight the many important issues raised and by juxtaposing them, to stimulate thought and further discussion.
