Abstract
Since 1980, AEROSPATIALE has developped a new curing process of composite using electron beam and X-rays with the first objective to manufacture filament wound motor cases. To industrialize this process studies have been performed: formulations of matrix, synthesis of a specific carbon fiber sizing, caracterization of composite on samples and on full scale structure, settlement of procedure associating electron beam and X-rays. These results led to decide the setting up of industrial facilities, so in the raid 1991 AEROSPATIALE will able to cure large structures (maximum length: 10 m maximum, diameter: 4 m).
