Abstract
Damage-threshold analysis of notched [0/90]2s and [90/0]2s carbon/epoxy laminates is carried out by using thermoelastic technique (SPATE) and a three dimensional finite element method. Fatigue strength and damage extension is examined experimentally and the process of transverse lamina cracking is analyzed numerically in the framework of Linear Elastic Fracture Mechanics.
