Adhesion and Welding of Continuous Carbon-Fiber Reinforced Polyether Etherketone (CF-PEEK/APC2)

  • Chapter
Developments in the Science and Technology of Composite Materials

Abstract

Structures made of more than one component must be joined together by suitable bonding techniques, enabling high loads without damage to the fibers. For joining thermoplastics both adhesion and welding are suitable techniques. In this paper the advantages and disadvantages of these different bonding techniques are discussed.
