Abstract
In this study, the effect of elasticity on both power consumption and mixing and circulation times is investigated for the case of an helical ribbon impeller. In order to separate the effect of shear-dependent viscosity from the effect of elasticity, we used an elastic-constant viscosity fluid. The main results are that elasticity increases power consumption but it does not affect mixing and circulation times.
