Abstract
Spinning experiments were performed using two different polymer solutions. The systems included solutions of Polyox(molecular weight of 4x106) and Alcomer (copolymer of sodium acrylate and acrylamide). Extensional flow data were obtained by using the Gupta-Sridhar extensional viscometer, with results that show different behavior of the two systems. The experimental measurements show a coil-stretch transition if we examine the apparent spinning viscosity variation with axial distance.
