Influence of Buserelin on Testicular Tissue After Long-Term Treatment for Precocious Puberty and Prostatic Cancer

  • Chapter
GnRH Analogues in Cancer and Human Reproduction

Abstract

GnRH analogs have been successfully used in the treatment of precocious puberty and prostatic carcinoma and may have potential as male contraceptive drugs. Following high doses, desensitization of the pituitary results, and testosterone levels drop to the levels found in castrated males.
