Abstract
GnRH analogs have been successfully used in the treatment of precocious puberty and prostatic carcinoma and may have potential as male contraceptive drugs. Following high doses, desensitization of the pituitary results, and testosterone levels drop to the levels found in castrated males. The purpose of this study was to examine effects of long-term, high dose, GnRH analog (buserelin) upon the human testis.
