Abstract

The identification and purification of the GnRH molecule has led to the availability of several long-acting GnRH analogues, whose in vitro and in vivo effect on the pituitary is to suppress gonadotrophin release when given repeatedly over a period of time. Hence these compounds have assumed a useful role in the treatment of centrally mediated precocious puberty.
