Abstract
We discuss a mathematical model to describe the physiology of tumor cells. The mathematical results are compared with experimental measurements carried out at the Max-Planck-Institut für Systemphysiologie. It is the main objective to find out if the oxygen consumption is independent of the oxygen concentration or if it is reduced in the case of a low oxygen supply. This is important to know as a change of the physiology goes along with a different response to radiation.
