Abstract

After a brief review of the results obtained in modelling the outbursts of novae and of the problems still to be solved, I describe different approaches to the meaning and the treatment of a non spherically symmetric outburst, a situation that is likely to occur very often. A work on localized thermonuclear runaways is presented.
