Abstract

This volume is the second publication from ICARDA’s project on Agricultural Labor and Technological Change (ALTC). As the background and general issues are discussed in detail in the companion volume, Labor and Rainfed Agriculture in West Asia and North Africa (Tully 1990), only a brief overview will be provided here. The primary purpose of this volume is to present the original research findings of eight teams from West Asia and North Africa who participated in the ALTC project.
