Abstract
Suppose that a new computer centre is being planned with the aim of providing service in the field of data processing for a certain group of customers. The core of such a centre is a computer device, i.e. a set of hardware and software resources. The job of the designer is to develope a computer system which would satisfy requirements meeting the tasks facing the centre. There are various possible performance evaluation criteria, e.g.:

responsiveness,

efficiency.
