Stochastic Description of Offshore Environment

  • Chapter
Water Wave Kinematics

Part of the book series: NATO ASI Series ((NSSE,volume 178))

Abstract

This paper presents a state-of-the-art review of the stochastic description of the ocean environment. Non-linearity consideration in random seas, wave breaking, wave groups, and stochastic properties of offshore currents are discussed presenting phenomena observed in the real world.
