Abstract

Fibroblast cell lines are used routinely as research tools, investigating a variety of functions. The ease of isolation and successful growth in culture are two reasons for the utilization of this cell as an experimental tool. This ease of isolation has thus contributed to the large literature now available concerning the isolation, maintenance and properties of fibroblasts isolated from a variety of tissues and species.
