Abstract

In addressing the topic of moral dilemmas and the moral identity of Catholic health-care institutions, we must recognize the insistence of contemporary moral theologians to attend to the specific nature and historical context of ethical issues. This insistence is particularly important for the topic treated here, because for too many years, normative guidelines for Catholic health-care prescinded from actual situations and circumstances.
