Part of the book series: NATO ASI Series ((ASHT,volume 12))

Abstract

The electrochemical behavior of nanosized hydrosols of titanium dioxide and cadmium sulfide was examined at a mercury electrode by means of polarography, cyclic voltammetry and differential pulse voltammetry. No evidence was obtained for direct reduction of the particle. The solubility of the titanium dioxide sol in perchloric acid over the pH range of 1–3 was determined, as was the adsorption of cadmium and sulfide ions by the CdS sol.
