Abstract

A fuzzy query evaluation in relational databases is presented in this paper. Average method, N-Root method and Weight method are introduced to determine the tuple membership value for fuzzy query processing. The tuple membership value of these new methods is reflected by all domain membership values in a tuple, while that of existing methods, so called MIN function method and B-P method, by only one value which is the lowest one among the domain membership values. Also, we introduce a filtering mechanism which makes fuzzy query processing efficient.
