Abstract

Intersexuality in dogs and cats may be associated with a variety of clinical problems such as infertility, abnormal behavior, urinary incontinence, local irritation of abnormal external genitalia, Sertoli cell neoplasia, endometritis, and gynaecomastia. For the diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis of these disorders it is important to understand the underlying mechanisms of normal and abnormal sexual development and differentiation.
