Abstract
In Croatia, judicial power is vested in regular and specialised courts. Specialised courts are, amongst other courts, commercial courts and the High Commercial Court. The greatest challenge of the Croatian judiciary, including the commercial courts, is the resolution of the extensive backlog of cases as well as the length of the proceedings. The way to render the Croatian commercial courts better able to address the growing problems brought about by the economic crisis by introducing changes in the existing legal framework and reinforcing discipline within the overall economic system is one of the themes of this contribution.
