Abstract
Electric and magnetic fields are two basic important quantities used in electromagnetic theory. Since electric and magnetic fields are vectors, vector calculus plays an important role in developing electromagnetic theory. In Chapt. 1, we will present elements of vector calculus such as vector addition, vector multiplications, and vector differential operators. Furthermore, we will show vector representations in rectangular, cylindrical, and spherical coordinate systems. At the end of Chapt. 1, the divergence theorem and Stokes’s theorem are also presented.
