Abstract
Is our work reaching selected scholars only? Are we speaking to other professionals only? How might our work be coupled with ethical dimensions so that we can address the needs of children and families in an increasingly neoliberal postmodern context? As we examine the types of scholarship that can be liberating for ourselves, our children, our families, and our communities; we need to rid ourselves of outdated scholarly notions of subjectivity-only and move toward compassion, humanity, and love. Can our fields pursue projects with ameliorative intentions? What would such projects look like?
May we do work that matters (Anzaldua, 2005, p. 102).
