Abstract
In this chapter, we describe the status of GIS in the secondary schools of Rwanda. We emphasize how GIS gained foothold in secondary education and how GIS as novel education technology supports Rwanda’s socioeconomic transformation to a knowledge-based society. The chapter concludes with an outlook for the future of GIS in Rwanda’s secondary schools.
