Abstract
In Lebanon, the efforts of a single technology-oriented teacher have had significant positive impact on students and other faculty. Inspired by the first GIS–GPS professional development workshop for educators in the Middle East and North Africa, this educator shows that student motivation and critical thinking improved even when GIS is used in a subject not often considered as a primary avenue for geotechnology—the English language classroom.
