Abstract
In this chapter, I provide a brief overview of the status of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) in the secondary schools of Finland and describe a few projects and activities that partly enhanced the incorporation of GIS in the curricula. This chapter presents a case study on the use of global positioning system (GPS) receivers in lower-secondary school education through a geocaching exercise and concludes with the most recent prospects for learning with GIS in Finland.
