Social and Environmental Design as an Educational Pedagogic Resource for Sustainable Development: An Experience with NGOs and Universities

In this chapter we report the work of a university extension project Design Possível supported by the NGO Design Possível. Since its inception in 2004 this academic project has been concerned with experimental practice in the socio-environmental design production and sustainability field. It has also focused on research into the development of designers as society transformation agents in the perspective of the new socio-economic order, which means training designers for the twenty-first century.
