Abstract

This chapter explores the ways in which educational leaders respond to selected policy issues in diverse communities. Towards this end, it analyzes two cases. The first case revolves around religion/culture. In this particular case, the school has been called upon to resolve an issue that involves values that differ from the Christian values to which school administrators are accustomed. The other case focuses on issues of discipline. In the described case, the community perceives student violation of school rules in a different light than the school administrators. The chapter concludes with observations on the two cases and what the implications are for leadership for learning.
