Abstract

The study on the preparation of anisotropic powders from hot-extruded Pr-Fe-B-Cu alloys has been carried out. It is shown that the method of equal channel angular pressing allows producing Pr-Fe-B-Cu alloys as fine-grain bulk precursors with high coercivity and the radial orientation of the Pr2Fe14B easy axes. The precursors were pulverized by both mechanical grinding and hydrogen decrepitation. After optimization of the particle size and the heat treatment conditions the anisotropic powders with (BH)max ≥ 160 kJ/m3 were obtained.
