  • Conference paper

Part of the book series: NATO Science Series ((NAIV,volume 31))

Abstract

In this paper I will have a look on interrelationship of reindeer herding enterprises and oil companies in the Nenets Autonomous Okrug. How the reindeer herding enterprises react on oil and gas development, and have they any say when petrodollars are divided by the local population? In what situation are the reindeer herding enterprises when they encounter oil companies, which are much stronger in economic and political sense [5]?
