Abstract
We are several people in this group: Christiane, Robert and Paul from Canada, Daniela from Italy, Tuula from Finland, Larry from the USA, Unnur Dis from Iceland and me, who is from Apatity, a northern Russian town that lives its own busy life behind the window. We are here for the scientific conference that has NATO abbreviation in its headline. Even after so many years since the cold war was ended and borders between West and East were open, it still feels unusual to see this abbreviation in the headline of the conference taking place here in Russia. Thus many local people are very curious about this and ask “why NATO”?..
