Abstract

As mentioned earlier, the IT today supports fundamentally different computing enterprise environments enabling significant business transformations to take place. The IT not only helps reengineer its business processes, it ultimately helps the enterprise extend its business scope73. The appropriate application of IT can boost the enterprise performance and enable new organisational paradigms. The IT also helps enterprise sustain its initial success. Often, it represents a challenge to the competitors, always eager and waiting for a single opportunity or a chance to penetrate the market. Enterprise partnerships and enterprise Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) of weaker and smaller enterprises become a dominant organisational change contributing to the enterprise growth and integration. Yet another symptom the information-centric paradigm [Renaud, 1996] is at its peak.
