Abstract
It is shown that the problems of plutonium and long-lived actinide a activity are the problems of U-Pu fuel cycle rather than those of the entire nuclear energy. The conversion of modern thermal reactors to the closed U-Th fuel cycle basically simplifies the solution of the most important problems in the modern nuclear energy.
