Abstract

The Algres graphical interface is intended to give a user-friendly interaction between the Algres system and the user. It is based on the X-Window and Motif environments, and has two main purposes: (1) it implements more gracefully the Algres input-output operations READ and DISPLAY, and (2) it allows the user to define complex objects by means of pure graphical actions. In the following examples we will refer to the X- Window environment, leaving the Motif interface to a subsequent section.
