Potato Latent Virus (PLV; Genus Carlavirus)

Abstract

PLV was first detected in 1992 in potato plants of cv. Red LaSoda imported into Scotland from the USA (Brattey et al. 1995). Although it was then tentatively designated Red La Soda virus, it is now recognised as a distinct carlavirus (Brattey et al. 1998; Goth et al. 1999).
