Abstract
The Swiss Federation for Adult Education established a research file on adult education policy and legislation at federal and cantonal level in Switzerland as part of the international project “Legislation and Policy”. The research, which was conducted in Switzerland between September 1994 and February 1995, was based on laws and draft proposals as well as on interviews with persons closely involved in the development and implementation of those measures. The instrument used was a questionnaire designed by the UNESCO Institute for Education (UIE) and applied in all the countries participating in the project.
