Abstract

Healthy ecosystems provide vital services for urban centres as well as for adaptation of urban communities to climate change. This paper will describe the value of ecosystem services and ecosystem-based adaptation for urban centres, giving examples of the effectiveness of this approach. It also provides possible policy recommendations for urban planners and local governments.
