Weird words: soft matter from A to Z

Abstract

This is a collection of many of the weird words you will find in this book, including some common words used in a non-common, technical sense. It is neither exhaustive, nor very accurate, but I hope it contains most of what you need to follow the text. You may wish to browse it occasionally or read it in the end to revise some concepts. Here, too, you will find an added bonus, consisting of additional information that did not fit in the main text, which is highlighted with a ♥. Just bear in mind that, very often, to understand a word you must already have grasped some other concepts (this is the unsolvable dilemma all dictionary-makers have to face). To help you, I have indicated cross-referenced words in caps. Hence, unfortunately, rather than simply reading, you may feel like you are…playing hopscotch.
