Abstract
There are many issues concerning the configuration of a vehicle chassis involving a range of different aspects including: ergonomics, accessibility, external shape, housing of mechanical components and suspensions. The structure is often adapted to these constraints filling the free spaces. As a consequence the body structure frequently has a complex shape.
The purpose of this chapter is to explain the structural function of the chassis components.
