Abstract

In this chapter, we shall consider the question of determining the stress distribution and curvature when a beam is subjected to bending moments sufficient to cause plastic deformation. The same analytical procedure can also be used for the bending of beams made of materials such as rubber, which have a non-linear elastic constitutive behaviour.
