Abstract
This chapter is an overview of several applications of stochastic approximation in broad strokes. These examples are far from exhaustive and are meant to give only a flavour of the immense potentialities of the basic scheme. In each case, only the general ideas are sketched. The details are relatively routine in many cases. In some cases where they are not, pointers to the relevant literature are provided.
