Abstract
The role of symmetries in the study of elementary particles can hardly be over-emphasised. While complex and elaborate calculations are often required for the prediction and interpretation of various phenomena, equally often do we find useful guidelines, either on the underlying structure of the theory or on the mutual relation among various types of phenomena, from considerations of symmetry.
