Abstract
In this section we present some applications of the factorizations of abelian groups to the geometry of tilings to estimating Ramsey numbers in combinatorics. We sketch the connection with coding theory with variable length codes and error correcting codes. We will describe a construction related to Hilbert’s 18th problem.
