Abstract

We have already seen some examples of Jordan groups in the last chapter. We shall see many more examples in this chapter and the next. As the ultimate purpose of this study is to find a complete classification (in Chapter 13) of all infinite primitive Jordan groups which are not highly transitive, we shall discuss some of the other examples, namely the finite and highly transitive Jordan groups, quite briefly, in the next section. Thereafter, we shall concentrate on the classes of examples arising from the projective and affine spaces as well as from linear relational structures.
