Abstract

In this chapter, we shall study “Semi-simple Modules and Rings” leading to the celebrated “Artin-Molien-Wedderburn structure theorem of semi-simple rings”. This is very crucial for the developments in the sequel. Though not required for our later purpose, we shall also present some of the basic concepts of the theory of “Central Simple Algebras” and “Brauer Groups”. As usual, unless stated otherwise, a ring will mean a ring with unity (commutative or not) and all modules considered are unitary. (Cf. [23], [31], etc.)
