Abstract
In this work we analyse the factors leading to the decline of popularity of traditional Computer Science / Informatics study programmes as observed in Europe and the U.S. We further examine the possible directions for improving the Informatics curricula to reverse the downturn trend. Finally, we report on the first positive experience of including Mobile Computing related topics into the Informatics study programme with resulting increase in students’ interest.
