Abstract
In this chapter we will see a number of descriptions of work with children in practice, built on developmental pedagogy where the learning object, that is what children’s attention is directed towards will be visible, as well as the act of learning, that is the way we believe children learn. This is where interaction and communication are vital assents for any teacher concerned with the “playing learning child”. The notions of play in modern research and its relation to learning will be problematized and discussed. Examples of content areas are literacy, mathematics, social science, and natural science. Communication, relations, and contents have to be intertwined and related to children’s perspectives.
