Abstract
The capacity of film, and moreover of photography, for description is generally recognised and demonstrated by the role it has had in political propaganda and social communication. Little recognition, however, is given to the planning aspect of the filmed interpretation of events and situations, evident not only in film’s capacity to propose a specific point of view but primarily in its power to stimulate the audience through stories capable of changing the meanings of the situations shown.
