Microwave Radiation of the Ocean-Atmosphere

Abstract

On the basis of the data of satellite and meteorological measurements obtained during January, July, and August of 1994, we estimated the monthly mean surface heat fluxes at 11 points of the North Atlantic. Possibilities of using the data of long-term microwave radiometric measurements from the DMSP satellite series for analysis of climatic variability of heat fluxes in Norwegian, Newfoundland, and Gulf Stream active zones of the North Atlantic are examined.
