Current tendencies of development of synthetic approaches for the creation of biocompatible and biodegradable polymer carriers of biologically active substances (BAS) are examined. Specifically, the utilization of carriers based on of lysine dendrimers and hyperbranched poly(lysines) as analogues of high molecular weight dendrimers for targeted delivery of BAS is discussed. Possible means of overcoming the problems associated with their preparation and application are also elucidated.
